How to get a paid Acuity Scheduling plan for free with Squarespace
EDIT: Squarespace acquired Acuity in April 2019 and sadly this deal is no longer available unless you already have it set up.
What is Acuity?
Acuity Scheduling is an online tool for scheduling appointments. You can have a booking calendar on your website (or just link to it from your site) and there’s also the option to schedule paid appointments. It’s easy to use for your clients and shows real-time availability.
Although there is a free plan with Acuity it has (like free plans often do) limitations. With a Squarespace website you can don’t need to pay a thing to get all the benefits of a paid plan, including syncing with your calendar, with iCloud, integrating with accounting software and with your email marketing software.
How to get it for free
If you have a Business or Commerce plan in Squarespace you can get an Acuity paid plan for free! So this means you can’t get it free during a trial or if you use the Personal plan.
If you don’t already have an Acuity account, here’s what to do:
Set up a new not linked page.
Add an Acuity block to the page.
In the Acuity block editor click the signup link.
You’ll be taken to the Acuity site where you create your account. You’ll get a free Emerging plan which is worth $15/month.
Your free Acuity Scheduling account will automatically renew for free each month as long as your Squarespace site is active.
If you already have an Acuity Scheduling account you can still get a free account. Once you’ve added the acuity block to your website, there’s a form to complete (find it here) on the Acuity website to show that you’re eligible for the offer.
Adding Acuity Scheduling to your website
Once you’re all set up with your account you can add Acuity Scheduling to your website using the Acuity Block which you can add to any page.
You need to add the URL for your Acuity Scheduling page which you can find by logging into Acuity > Client’s Scheduling Page > Scheduling Page Link. Copy the link under General Scheduling Page and paste this into the Acuity Block in Squarespace.
There’s a fair bit of customisation you can do inside Acuity, as well as syncing it with your Google (or other) calendar. You can also specify appointment types/lengths and set up the hours that you’re available for people to book appointments. It is worth spending a bit of time to find your way around Acuity Scheduling to get this initial set up done.
